Meck Earns Lifetime Achievement Award for Commitment to Agricultural Community
 
BUCKEYE - The Agribusiness & Water Council of Arizona (ABWC) has recognized Mayor Jackie Meck’s hard work and dedication to the agricultural community awarding him their prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award.
                         
Throughout his career in the Buckeye Water Conservation and Drainage District and in his public service as Mayor of Buckeye, Jackie Meck has been committed to preserving the natural resources of the southwest valley.  He has worked hard to preserve open spaces, ensure an adequate water supply to keep up with growth, and eradicate salt cedar trees to protect our transportation assets and prevent flooding.
 
Mayor Meck has also shown his commitment to Buckeye’s natural resourcesmeckaward serving on several committees throughout his career including Co-Chair of the White Tank Conservancy Trust, the Irrigation and Electrical Districts Association of Arizona Board of Directors, and Colorado River Water Users Association.  As Mayor, Meck spearheaded efforts to improve water and sewer lines throughout the city and secure long-term water to sustain Buckeye’s growth.
 
“I am proud to accept the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Agribusiness & Water Council of Arizona!” said Mayor Jackie Meck, “I've been working on water resource issues throughout my career and I'm honored by this award.  Thanks to Chris Udall, the executive director of AWCA and their board.”
 
About the ABWC
 
The Agribusiness & Water Council of Arizona (ABWC) is a not for profit trade association whose membership represents the entire agricultural community from Ditchbank to Dinner Plate in Arizona. ABWC was established in 1978 to respond to proposed water legislation and to serve as the State’s Reclamation representative to the National Water Resources Association. Its members are comprised of growers, ranchers, suppliers of equipment, seed, chemicals and services, attorney groups, agricultural processors, financiers of agribusiness enterprises, commodity groups, trade associations, electrical, irrigation and drainage districts.
