“Serving everywhere from the Elks and Lions Clubs to the Buckeye Valley Chamber of Commerce, Mayor Meck has been committed to a lifetime of community service and leadership.  I have worked closely with him to serve Veterans throughout our community and ensure they have the help and support they need.  That’s why I’m endorsing his re-election for Mayor of Buckeye,” said Mayor Jerry Weiers of Glendale.

Avondale Mayor Kenn Weise said, “It has been my pleasure to work with Mayor Jackie Meck in several regional organizations and on important issues regarding jobs, economic opportunities, and transportation.  He has been laser focused on job creation and a great champion for businesses throughout the Southwest Valley.  The entire region benefits from having Mayor Meck as part of the team.  I am proud to offer my support.”

“It is my honor to earn the endorsement of these tremendous leaders and colleagues who have helped make our entire region great,” concluded Mayor Meck, “Together, we have been able to accomplish great things that help all of us like protecting Luke Air Force Base, building infrastructure, and finding ways to work together instead of against one another.  Buckeye and the entire West Valley are stronger because of their leadership.”

West Valley View Endorses Jackie Meck for Mayor

I am proud to announce that the West Valley View has endorsed me in my bid for re-election.  The West Valley View has been a leading community newspaper since its founding 30 years ago covering local news, politics, business, and sports.   They announced their support in an editorial in today’s edition.  You can read it here.

Here are some excerpts:

“We recommend Meck for mayor and Youngker for District 1, Guy for District 2 and Hess for District 3.  All of them impressed us with their vast knowledge of the issues affecting Buckeye, namely the invasive salt cedars that have taken over the Gila River, choking out native species and sucking the river dry while causing fire and flood dangers.”

“...we like what we’ve seen from Meck and we’d like to see more. We like his enthusiasm, we like his experience and institutional knowledge, and we love that he offered to forego his salary when the recession hit... Meck is in it strictly for the good of Buckeye, period.”

Meck Elected Vice Chair of Maricopa Association of Governments

I am proud to announce that I was elected Vice-Chair of the Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) at their annual meeting late last month. MAG is a very important regional organization that brings leaders and businesses from across the valley together to solve the major issues that impact our region.

As they explain in their release: “MAG is a Council of Governments and Metropolitan Planning Organization that provides a regional forum for discussion, analysis, and resolution of regional issues, including transportation, air quality, economic development and human services. MAG prepares the 20-year Long Range Transportation Plan and five-year Transportation Improvement Program for the region.  Founded in 1967, MAG will celebrate its 50th Anniversary on April 12, 2017.”  Click here to read the article.

I have the honor of serving on several different regional boards and commissions including Maricopa Association of Governments, Luke Air Force Base Mayor/Manager Council, Fighter Country Partnership, Interstate Eleven (I-11) Freeway Coalition, Economic Development Committee, Estrella Mountain Community College President’s Advisory Council, and West Valley Hospital Board of Directors.

Working on with these regional organizations on important issues helps to increase Buckeye’s influence in our region and allow us to attract businesses and improve our overall quality of life.  Learn more about me at www.MayorMeck.com.  I would be honored to have your support and your vote.

Sincerely,

Mayor Jackie Meck
